Luxury Jewelry Player – Power BI

i – Context

As part of a renewal of its Business Intelligence architecture, this player chose a new data visualization or “DataViz” solution, Power BI.

MeltOne supported the company in integrating Microsoft’s solution by creating reports, dashboards, and applications, as well as training users.

In addition, the firm manages post-integration project topics: maintenance, change management, governance, and BI community engagement.

II – Implementation

For this player’s data team, it was essential to successfully onboard business units onto the new solution by meeting existing reporting needs while also finding the right dataviz and modeling solutions for new requirements.

Additionally, there was a desire to train key users on self-service BI for greater autonomy for each business team.

MeltOne proposed a siloed approach by business team, in 4 phases:

Detailed design (collection of reporting needs, new and existing)
Analysis & modeling
Development of part of the reports, testing, and production deployment
Co-development of the second part of the reports to enable effective upskilling of key users on the solution.

III – RESULTS

Implementation of a project structure composed of 2 consultants in charge of modeling and development, and 1 consultant as project lead and technical expert.

In addition to this permanent structure, we brought in two business experts for “finance” and “supply chain” (SAP) issues.

Contract renewal for an additional year with the integration of the Power BI solution for new perimeters as well as maintenance for deployed business units.

Engagement won for the integration of ANAPLAN.

Engagement also won for the governance of the Power BI project, as well as change management and BI community engagement.
