Foyer Transforms Its Financial Management with Pigment and MeltOne

Secteur : Banking & Insurance
Activité : Foyer, the leading insurance provider in Luxembourg with over 1,000 employees, decided to eliminate these constraints. Founded in 1922, Foyer evolved over a century from a small local company to an international financial group. This rapid growth required a complete overhaul of the analytical approach.

Financial management of an international insurance group is a constant challenge. Siloed data, manual processes, excessive closing periods: all obstacles that limit the responsiveness of Finance teams. By leveraging the Pigment EPM solution and MeltOne’s business expertise, the group radically transformed its management control system.

Strategic Challenges to Support International Growth

Before the project, the finance department relied on Excel files and SAP. This organization generated several concrete problems:

  • Dispersed data, without centralization or a common source of truth.

  • Excessive reporting delays during quarterly closings.

  • Siloed budget construction, without cross-entity visibility.

  • Lack of quality and reliability in consolidated data.

Faced with this situation, the Executive Committee decided to launch an RFP (request for proposal) to select an EPM solution suited to the group’s ambitions. The objective was clear: modernize financial performance management while gaining operational agility.

A Structured Deployment Based on Co-Construction

The project began with the priority scope: the local Luxembourg market. Over the first six months, MeltOne teams worked closely with Foyer’s management controllers to configure the solution.

This co-construction approach was a key success factor. Business teams were involved from the start in configuring the tool. This active participation strengthened their ownership of the solution and facilitated their skill development.

The technical component automated data collection and transformation, freeing teams from low-value tasks to focus on analysis and strategic planning.

“We needed to simplify and automate processes. Enable headquarters allocations to be distributed across different entities and their departments. The teams are now fully invested in the tool because they configured it with us.”

Concrete and Measurable Results for Foyer’s Finance Function

The production deployment of Pigment produced immediately visible benefits across several dimensions.

A consistent gain in closing times

The most tangible result: quarterly closings went from 15 days to 2 days. This 87% reduction frees up valuable time for teams, now focused on analysis rather than data collection.

A Sustainable Reduction in Operational Workload

In the long term, the group plans to reduce the number of FTEs dedicated to data collection and report production. HR management control will also be integrated into Pigment, expanding the scope of the transformation.

Strong Team Engagement in the Foyer Group

Charlotte Bourret highlights a result often underestimated in transformation projects: employee engagement. Teams feel involved in developing their own work tool. This engagement ensures the solution’s sustainability.

Testimonial from the Foyer Team

“What attracted us to MeltOne was first and foremost the expertise offered in management control, process evolution, and support on these business topics.”

In summary, the benefits cover four dimensions:

  • Data centralization and a single source of truth for financial management.

  • Automation of collection and consolidation processes.

  • Significant reduction in quarterly closing periods.

  • Increased autonomy for Finance teams on the EPM tool.

Next Steps: Expanding the Scope to the Entire Foyer Group

The initial deployment in the Luxembourg market is only a first step. Foyer plans to extend Pigment to all business lines of the group. HR management control will also be integrated into the platform.

The group also intends to leverage new modules available in Pigment, particularly the “Modelers,” to enable non-technical profiles to access data more quickly. The co-construction approach will continue to guide this evolution.
