Implementation of MT940 bank statements

CONTEXT

A pharmaceutical group that has used an SAP solution since 2007 to host its business processes and support functions, primarily through the FI, CO (accounting, management control), MM, SD, PP, PM, QM, and WM (logistics) modules. This solution has been deployed worldwide (France, US, China, UK, Ireland, etc.).

MeltOne was asked to support IPSEN in the automatic integration of bank statements in the international MT940 format into their SAP solution for 12 representative offices and 3 commercial subsidiaries, covering 15 different countries.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The project was carried out in several successive waves for these Ipsen group entities located in Europe and internationally (Eastern Europe and Asia).

MeltOne was involved in all phases of this project, including the analysis of accounting integration schemes, the implementation phase (creation of bank GL accounts, configuration of missing transaction keys), interface testing with the Treasury tool (MT940 reception tool), assistance with user acceptance testing, as well as go-live and maintenance of the solution.

RESULTS

Following this successful project, electronic bank statements are integrated daily for the companies concerned via a fully automated process. Treasury accounting schemes are now harmonized at the group level. Entities no longer need to manually enter their bank statements into SAP.
