WINBACK – SAP BUSINESS BYDESIGN
I – Context
Winback is a French company specialising in Tecar therapy (the use of waves for joint and muscle regeneration).
Founded in 2013, Winback has experienced rapid growth in France and internationally. The need for a common tool for all subsidiaries, covering all company functions (production, purchasing, sales and finance), quickly became apparent. The objective is therefore to enable the Group to establish a shared reference framework and a common language across the company’s various data and processes.
Today, each entity operates independently with its own tools. The main idea of this project was therefore to bring the entire Group onto a single, unified entry point: the SAP Business ByDesign ERP.
Winback’s other objective is to have a scalable cloud ERP that makes it easy to onboard new entities to support the Group’s growth. This is enabled by the localisations available in the tool and the quarterly releases that bring their share of new features.
II – Implementation
Winback wanted to implement a flexible and agile cloud ERP, with prospects for evolution and innovation, while still being able to communicate with existing tools.
It was also imperative for Winback that the solution be scalable for future rollouts in order to support the Group’s long-term growth.
Finally, the idea of having an ERP and a common language with shared master data (items, chart of accounts, BOM, etc.) and consistent processes across the various international subsidiaries (Europe, USA and Asia) was also among the key criteria for selecting the ERP.
MeltOne applied the SAP “Fit to Standard” philosophy. During project delivery, it adopted the “SAP Activate” methodology, which consists of the following phases:
- Prepare : Project kick-off and schedule preparation. Definition of the project scope, presentation of processes, analysis of gaps and interfaces, and definition of migration objects / user roles
- Realize : Solution configuration, unit testing, data migration strategy and preparation of the cutover plan
- Verify: Solution acceptance testing, go-live preparation
- Run : Solution go-live, migration, post-go-live support
III – results
A MeltOne team made up of 3 consultants and 1 developer certified on SAP Business byDesign to address the following topics: Production, Logistics, Finance and the necessary specific developments (mainly interfaces and document output management).
To accelerate the project launch, we also used our MeltOne SAP Business byDesign demo environment to present the key concepts and target processes with contextualised data to encourage buy-in.
IV – MeltOne VERBATIM
Testimonial
The main challenge of this project is multifaceted and, within a relatively short project timeframe (a few months), must build a common process foundation applicable in France and internationally, with a phased deployment approach enabling the solution to be launched first for the Group companies with the highest volumes—hence the increased vigilance on this first phase. Finally, change management is also an important point given the different levels of knowledge and project maturity depending on the countries and users (some countries already have an ERP).
