What’s new in S/4HANA Cloud for February 2023?

With every Release, SAP brings innovation to S/4HANA Cloud. What are the interesting new features for February 2023? I invite you to discover our selection of key points from Release 2302 through this article.

FINANCE

• Increased flexibility in managing accounting standards assigned to ledgers:
  • Ability to choose each accounting standard assigned to each ledger
  • The choice can be made at the group or company code level

• Definition of fiscal year variants:
  • Simplified creation of fiscal year variants to meet the specific needs of each company (16 posting periods in retail, 4-4-5 calendar, etc.)

• New customer invoice posting processes via a new mass posting of customer invoices tile:
  • Mass entry of customer invoices via a standard template provided by SAP

• Use of substitution/validation rules for asset master records
  • Creation of control/management rules to better manage and enrich asset master records.

• Redesign of the bank statement integration monitoring tile:
  • Simplification of bank statement integration monitoring for each bank
    • Allows for quick identification of which bank statement has an error
  • Improved monitoring regarding bank reconciliation

SUPPLY CHAIN

• Use of barcode scanning for goods receipt
  • Supports the GS1 standard
  • Goods receipt applications have been revised to manage the use of a scanner

SALES

• New application allowing to manage tax rates for sales orders
  • Availability of an Excel template to mass update rates
  • Easier rate updates

• New dashboard providing a global view of customer information
  • Display of main customer-related information (sales type, last sale, last delivery, etc.)
  • Display of basic customer information (name, address, contact)

PURCHASING

• Redesign of the purchase requisition management application
  • A single application allows you to create, copy, or delete purchase requisions
  • The tile also allows for the creation of purchase requisition drafts

• New functionality for sending reminders to suppliers
  • Ability to send an automatic reminder to suppliers when the delivery date has passed
  • Reminders can be printed or sent automatically by email
  • The reminder template is adaptable to the company’s needs

• Management of partner functions in purchase orders
  • Management of different parties in the PO: ordering address, goods supplier, invoicing party

• Addition of free files in the PO header
  • File storage to find important information quickly

• Fine-tuned management of unplanned delivery costs
  • At the time of invoice entry, it is possible to distribute unplanned delivery costs across different purchase order items

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

• Availability of an API for project billing, redesign of the purchase requisition management application
  • A single application allows you to create, copy, or delete purchase requisions
  • The tile also allows for the creation of purchase requisition drafts

• New functionality for sending reminders to suppliers
  • Ability to send an automatic reminder to suppliers when the delivery date has passed
  • Reminders can be printed or sent automatically by email
  • The reminder template is adaptable to the company’s needs

• Management of partner functions in purchase orders

• Addition of free files in the PO header

• Availability of the localization package for the following countries:
  • Greece
  • Egypt
  • Argentina

Possibility to deploy the solution in these countries with all accounting and tax standards included.

COLLABORATION

• Implementation of a direct connection between S/4HANA Cloud and Microsoft Teams
  • Possibility to share information directly from S/4HANA Cloud to Teams >Everything can be shared: accounting item lists, analysis, reporting, etc.

• Allows for direct and simple exchange to make decisions quickly
