The Q1 2025 release of SAP Analytics Cloud continues the logical progression of the solution’s constant evolution with new key features to provide a better user experience. This article highlights the main new features.

1. Seamless Planning with SAP Datasphere

Seamless Planning between SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP DataSphere makes its debut in the Q1/2025 release, further strengthening the already increased connectivity between these two solutions.

This new feature allows for the centralized storage of actual and budget data on a single platform, SAP DataSphere, while reducing data silos.

When creating a planning model, the user can choose where to store their data: either in SAC, as was previously the case, or directly in SAP DataSphere thanks to Seamless Planning. This process eliminates the need to develop data write-back flows. Indeed, forecasts collected via SAC Planning will be automatically saved in DataSphere, allowing them to be compared in real-time with actual data.

This first version marks the launch of Seamless Planning, with additional features planned for future releases.

2. Centralized Monitoring of Data Actions

Before Q1/2025, monitoring was integrated into the data actions module, and tracking was exclusively dedicated to these; the execution of Multi Actions could not be traced.

With this latest release, SAP Analytics Cloud includes a centralized monitoring platform where both data actions and multi actions can be tracked, including: the task execution time, the user who launched it, the final status (Success, Error), and various other reusable pieces of information.

3. Just Ask Evolves

Integrated into SAP Analytics Cloud since the Q2/2024 release, Just Ask is an AI-based feature that allows users to query data models using natural language, thereby promoting autonomy in building their dashboards. For example, one could ask Just Ask to return a top 10 of products generating the most revenue for the current fiscal year and classify them in descending order.

In this release, Just Ask evolves with new features, notably native currency conversion management.

Using natural language, the user can ask to visualize, for example, revenue in GBP, even though it is stored in Euro. Just Ask performs an on-the-fly conversion to return the information in the desired currency by referring to a conversion table containing exchange rates previously entered by the user.

4. Introduction of Compass Probability Simulation

The new Compass Probability Simulation feature allows decision-makers to anticipate and better manage risks.

Based on the Monte Carlo method, Compass helps companies model the impact of different scenarios by taking into account possible variations in strategic KPIs.

Compass Probability Simulation helps identify pessimistic, realistic, and optimistic scenarios to better prepare a strategy.

Its intuitive interface allows all users to perform multivariate and real-time analyses without prior IT configuration or advanced statistical skills.

5. Video Data Story

It is now possible to create short videos directly in SAC, with the “Video Data Story” feature, without requiring video editing skills. This approach makes analytical content more dynamic and engaging, thus facilitating the communication of results.

To use it, simply activate the “Video Data Story” option in a story. Users can select and add charts from their analysis. Once inserted, a design panel opens to allow adding other charts and KPIs, with several customization options to enrich the video.

Once finalized, the video can be saved in SAC, shared with other users, viewed in the browser, or downloaded in WEBM format for external use.

SAP continuously innovates to improve SAP Analytics Cloud, regularly enriching the solution with new and increasingly powerful features. At MeltOne, we closely follow these developments and will continue to keep you informed through other articles.
