CAC 40: The countdown to statutory consolidation has begun
Statutory consolidation is an essential process and a legal obligation for large companies: it involves consolidating the accounts of different entities within a parent company to produce a comprehensive financial picture of the entire group.
This sector is undergoing a major transition. SAP BFC, a historical and undisputed leader, present in 90% of CAC40 companies, will be discontinued by 2030. This is a significant deadline that the majority of large groups have not yet fully anticipated, even though it is imminent from a legal and financial perspective.

Transitioning to a new solution
For new solutions and integrator consulting firms, a very large market is opening up, though not without risk: the timeframe for migrating to a new solution is limited. Knowing that a complete migration typically requires 24 months, the migration must begin by 2028 at the latest, which is in less than 2 years, to anticipate the discontinuation of SAP BFC. This implies:
-
Operational risk
Transitioning to a new consolidation solution requires upskilling teams. While consolidation principles remain unchanged, their implementation in a new tool requires understanding the mechanisms of configuration, automation, and control. Training and team adoption are key levers to ensure smooth closings. -
Legal and regulatory risk
Statutory consolidation is a regulatory obligation. Any failure will result in penalties and non-compliance, with severe financial and legal consequences.
-
Reputational risk
The reliability of published information is a key element of the group’s financial credibility, particularly with investors, regulators, and partners. -
Saturation risk
As the 2030 deadline approaches, the concentration of migration projects could lead to significant strain on available resources. Anticipating your project allows you to secure the necessary skills and control implementation timelines.
This transition also represents a major opportunity for these companies to benefit from a new range of tools better suited to their specific needs, thereby improving the final output.
