Manitou – Ui Path
I – CONTEXT
A global leader in material handling, people elevation, and earthmoving, Manitou Group recorded revenue of 1.6 billion euros in 2020. It brings together 4,400 talents across 30 companies worldwide. The group focuses on innovation for its customers while also committing to internal digital transformation.
II – IMPLEMENTATION
As part of a broader finance transformation, initiated by modernizing its performance management tools, the Finance department sought to:
- Continue its innovation strategy by automating and shortening the production of its reporting for all 7 global regions, intended for sales managers and financial controllers.
- Enable employees to focus on high-value-added tasks
To initiate this innovation approach, we worked with various departments to identify potential processes eligible for robotization. We worked on a first case that seemed to address an immediate need for accelerating reporting production during closings and communication with regions.
We proceeded with evangelization and explanation of RPA principles to various departments through general workshops and then specific ones for a management case.
Next, we developed the Robot via UiPath Studio (the robot connecting successively to 4 different applications: Google Chrome, CCH Tagetik, Excel, GMAIL). It was validated by the client. The project took place over 1 month involving a MeltOne consultant and a person from the consolidation & reporting department.
III – RESULTS
ROI: Process reduced from 2 days to 1 hour.
The use of a robot freed up 2 days per month for a management controller. This allows them to focus on more critical tasks during monthly closing periods.
