Grimaud Group faced a lack of visibility and control over its financial data. Dispersed data (disparate Excel files) made it difficult to consolidate information and monitor overall financial performance. The Group’s need was to improve the centralisation and accessibility of management control data through three main reports: the P&L (Profit and Loss), the cash flow statement (TFT) and the balance sheet.
To meet this need, MeltOne implemented a financial reporting solution based on Power BI, enabling Grimaud to centralise and automate the generation of these three key reports. The approach was carried out in three stages:
“With a view to harmonising the economic and financial reporting tools of all our Group’s subsidiaries, we called on MeltOne to help us develop the reports in Power BI. MeltOne enabled us to ‘learn by doing’, thanks to their technical and teaching skills, their creativity and their good humour. The reports developed have been in use for a year now and fulfil their role 100%.”
Thanks to this co-development and training approach, Grimaud Group now has automated financial dashboards that are easy to update and accessible to all stakeholders. The teams are able to manage the day-to-day running of the reports themselves, ensuring continuity in data management without relying entirely on an external service provider.
Today, Grimaud’s teams report significant benefits:
Power BI was the obvious choice thanks to its compatibility with existing data sources (Excel and SQL Server) and the Microsoft ecosystem already in place.
Its user-friendly interface enables quick adoption, giving business teams the ability to create and modify their dashboards independently.
