The challenges of fragmented financial management

Batibig produced its management reporting solely on Excel. This way of working was time-consuming and poorly connected to accounting. Before the project, three obstacles weighed on financial management:

  • Time-consuming processes

    For creating management reports.
  • Limited connectivity

    With accounting tools.
  • No automation

    Because everything relied on Excel.

In the last quarter of 2025, the group therefore launched an EPM tender. The executive management had two objectives. First, a tool capable of accommodating other modules in the future. Second, a single communication tool.

Batibig team testimonial

“We found ourselves with extremely time-consuming processes for creating our management reports, solely on Excel, no automation and therefore very little connectivity with our accounting tools.”

The process: a Pigment deployment in two phases

MeltOne started with a common foundation in December 2025. The project aimed for initial results in early February. The timeline was therefore tight. Here are the key steps:

  • The common foundation (December 2025)

This phase allows understanding of Batibig’s processes and structure. It precedes any deployment.
  • Phase 1: P&L-oriented financial reporting

MeltOne handled 100% of the implementation in Pigment.
  • Phase 2: non-financial KPIs and other financial reports

This phase covers the balance sheet and DSO. It was completed in co-implementation with Batibig teams.
  • Skills development

Management controllers, then operational managers, learned to use Pigment

“What impressed us most was how easily the management control teams, but also the operational managers, developed their skills. They make Pigment their daily management platform. Today, Batibig’s management control team is fully autonomous to maintain the application and implement changes requested by its operations teams.”

Concrete results: 20 to 25% time saved at month-end close

Batibig produces its figures faster and with greater reliability. Teams analyze more and produce less.

Reduced closing time

The group has saved approximately 20 to 25% of time on its monthly closes. This time was historically dedicated to data production. Now, teams use it for analysis.

More reliable data

Production speed and data reliability have improved. As a result, the quality of figures communicated to external partners has improved.

Buy-in from all teams

Management control and operational management have embraced the project. Pigment can therefore become a central tool in the organization.

Batibig team testimonial

“With Pigment’s implementation in our organization today, we’ve gone even further than we wanted. We’ve probably saved 20 to 25% of our time on monthly closes, which was historically dedicated to pure data production. But now, we can use this time for analysis.”

Next steps: budgeting, consolidation, and AI

Batibig is extending its EPM project across several areas:

  • Short term: a budgeting module in management reporting.
  • Longer term: statutory consolidation and human resources topics.
  • Right now, with AI: MeltOne is supporting the exploration of use cases in Pigment.

For example, the analyst agent produces ad hoc analyses. AI also helps model budget preparation and payroll management.

Key takeaways:

  • Automated management reporting

    In a single tool: Pigment.
  • 20 to 25% time saved

    On monthly closes.
  • A project launched in December 2025

With initial results in early February.
  • Autonomous teams

    From management control to operations.
  • A foundation ready to evolve

    Toward budgeting, consolidation, and AI.
